●A large example of the Tenpo Mameita-gin, a Japanese silver currency issued during the Edo period from 1837 to 1858.

Mameita-gin formed part of Japan’s traditional weighed silver monetary system and was used alongside Chogin. This special type bears the image of Daikoku, the Japanese deity associated with wealth and prosperity, on both sides.

This example weighs 10.68g, making it a notably large specimen for a double-sided Daikoku Mameita-gin.
